Avandia may increase risk of macular edema


Avandia's manufacturer, Glaxo-Smith-Kline, has determined that this drug may increase the incidence of macular edema. Here is the letter GSK sent to health care providers. .

    I think it's because Avandia works so well at rapidly improving blood sugar levels, and this has shown to be a risk for increased macular edema. See the new article I just posted.
