MONOVISION MAY BE BETTER THAN MULTIFOCAL IOLS

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Volume 35, Issue 9, Pages 1501-1504 (September 2009)

This study evaluated patients who had monofocal IOL implantation to correct presbyopia and multifocal IOL implantation. The maximum reading speed, critical character size, and reading acuity were measured binocularly without refractive correction

The mean maximum reading speed difference was not statistically significant. The monovision group had better critical character size and reading acuity results. The monovision method group had better reading ability.
