Does the Level of Physical Activity in University Students Influence Development and Progression of Myopia?--A 2-Year Prospective Cohort Study -- Jacobsen et al. 49 (4): 1322 -- Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science : According to this study of 156 caucasian first year medical students: "An association between physical activity and myopia was observed, suggesting a protective effect of physical activity on the development and progression of myopia in university students. The results also confirm that intensive studying is a risk factor of myopia."

Journal of Glaucoma - Abstract: Volume 17(2) March 2008 p 89-99 Effects of Central Corneal Thickness on the Efficacy of Topical Ocular Hypotensive Medications. : According to this study: "When dosed with IOP lowering drugs, eyes with thinner corneas had lower IOPs than eyes with thicker corneas. This suggests a reduced efficacy of some glaucoma medications in ocular hypertensive patients with thick corneas."

This study concludes: "Once-daily dosing of travoprost with sofZia produced significantly fewer corneal changes and less conjunctival inflammation than latanoprost preserved with BAK. Corneal and conjunctival changes noted with travoprost with sofZia were similar to those induced by preservative-free artificial tears."

HEAVY ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION INCREASES RISK FOR AMD

Although this association seems to be independent of smoking, residual confounding effects from smoking cannot be excluded completely."
